Dr G's recommendation: People often tell me that I have a "fossil voice"- a tone in my voice that I subconsciously use when I am talking about the excitement of being able to study fossils for a living. It tends to come out when I am talking to school groups, kids, and the palaeo-interested members of the public. Well, I'm sure that I've heard the same thing coming from plenty of archaeologists too! It's not a bad thing either - we should all embrace our inner archaeology, palaeontology or geology voices! Or at least celebrate it with a stubby cooler!
