Rite in the Rain Geological fabrikoid note book: This is a great new innovative design from Rite in the Rain, a model that is specifically geared towards the Earth Sciences and is great for students through to professionals. Firstly, it has everything that you expect from Rite in the Rain- tough, fabrikoid binding and all-weather writing paper, meaning that it will stand-up to most conditions. The left-right page pattern is columnar and 1/10” grid respectively (137 pages worth). The beauty of the book is the reference pages- p. 138-157. They’re full of loads of info that you need in the field, including standard geological abbreviations, charts of classification systems of igneous and sedimentary rocks, grain size scales, soil classification tables, and standard geological symbols, to name but a few. Plus on the inside of the back cover, there is a clear pouch with a removable printed all-weather card with north arrow, scale bar, and rule (imperial and metric) – a great little accessory that can be used as a scale or directional pointer in field photographs. The book measures 121 x 192 mm.
